The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is Scotland’s largest modern University. It has four campuses in the west and south-west of Scotland in Paisley, Hamilton, Dumfries and Ayr, as well as a campus in London. The university currently has around 16,000 students, with approximately 1300 staff, spread across five schools of learning. It has a reputation for vocational undergraduate and post-graduate courses and for attracting students from less advantaged backgrounds. It is in the top 500 Universities world wide.
